With the recent hype around the use of AI in education, namely ChatGPT, a lot of questions have arisen. In a conversation with Wayne Holmes, Professor at UCL and a consultant researcher on AI in education for UNESCO, we discuss this newly developed and widely available chatbot and the potential for it to change the way we teach and learn - should it be banned or embraced? With advancements in AI and EdTech companies already claiming to provide digital “personalised learning”, will teachers eventually be replaced by intelligent tutoring systems?
