Welcome to Episode #10 with Lorie Marrero.
After getting recognized in airports and grocery stores, doing hundreds of media interviews, and becoming a social media influencer before it was "a thing," she desired to retreat from the spotlight and help other thought leaders get their messages out there. She spent 17 years achieving exactly what speakers, authors, and experts want to do...
- Getting on the Wall Street Journal bestseller list
- Becoming a spokesperson for major brands like Goodwill, Microsoft, Walgreens, Brother, and Staples
- Speaking on high-stakes stages and webinars
- Building a large email list and social media following
- Garnering a Contributing Editor position on the masthead of a major print magazine (Woman's Day/Hearst)
- Earning dozens of "go-to" media source relationships with reporters and producers for major media outlets
- Creating a membership site that served thousands of people in 18 countries over 10 years
- Inking corporate and nonprofit partnership deals with Rubbermaid and Goodwill Industries International
- Producing 7 profitable online courses
- Manufacturing her own closet product sold at The Container Store and other retailers nationwide
- Selling portions of her business when she decided to make a change
The learning and insight she gained from these experiences is now put toward helping others reach similar goals-- whether clients need consulting and strategy or literal hands-on content production, she is the "Swiss Army knife" they need to leverage their time and efforts.
Here are some things she achieves with her clients:
- Designing online courses, including one with its own smartphone app
- Producing a webinar that attracted over 800 registrants and 320 attendees and coaching the influencer how to do their first webinar, making their slides and writing their speaker notes
- Writing and editing countless articles, lead magnets, and eBooks, along with layout/design
- A standing ovation for a high-stakes speech to a 1300-person audience--and the longest meet-and-greet line of all of the event's speaker line-up for a client who had never spoken on a big stage before. She wrote her speech and helped her rehearse it and memorize it
- A successful high-pressure TEDx talk for a physician that was science-heavy and being questioned by TED's main office for "pseudoscience"-- they worked together on-site until the last minute making slides and providing 69 scientific references to back up what was said
- Growing a client's email list from a handful of people to over 10,000 very engaged subscribers
- Project-managing development of a world-class website that took a year to build
- Writing video scripts, importing into a teleprompter, and (hands-on) directing video shoots for a client with no experience, and overseeing the editing process to completion
