When's the last time you put yourself into a situation that you felt uncomfortable or didn't know where you were going or what you were doing? Uncertainty is a part of life and believing that we can control the outside world is a fools errand. The antidote to needing to control the world around you is to go and seek out adventures on purpose. When you look at your calendar or to-do list are you filled with bitterness or resentment (or maybe something lighter like dread or annoyance)? Affirmations are complete B.S. They don't work because your brain doesn't believe it and can actually dig in even more to the habit or belief that you want to change. What DOES work is "What If" questions. I have been using what if questions in my coaching with clients for years, but Marie Manucherchi helped me understand the power of them in every day use to create small cracks in our deep-seated beliefs that we want to change about ourselves.
