December 22, 2019 Sayonara 2019: Game of the Year
It’s finally here! We did it somehow. We were able to wade through a whole years worth of game releases and agree upon, as the Reiwa Gaming Podcast, our top 5 games of 2019. Some battles were won and some were lost, but after a surprisingly civil discussion we are able to declare a winner. Along with the official group list the hosts also go over their personal top 5 lists, and they are all pretty different. This was a fun episode to record and we hope you all enjoy it. The holiday season approaches and with it comes a long stretch without any major game releases. Luckily for us, we all have a decent game backlog waiting for us. This week we wrap up our Death Stranding discussion now that 3 out of 4 hosts have completed the game, chat about what we’ve been playing lately, and as usual focus in on a few gaming news stories that we think are important. Rumor has it that Valve is releasing a new Half-Life game...could it be?!?! This episode also signals the return of the highly-acclaimed “special segment”. It’s Nick’s turn to come up with a topic and he has tasked the hosts with trying to choose a dead or MIA game series they would love to see be revived for the next console generation.
