The Scripture is Luke 3:7-18.

We’re all tired of COVID and its impact on our plans and expectations for Christmas celebration. 

We tend to reject God’s good because we expected something else.

Mary couldn’t have expected what lay before her if she were to say yes. And yet, she said to the angel, “Here am I, the servant of the Lord, let him be with me according to your word.” She let go of the life she had desired to accept the life God desired for her.

Sometimes you have to let go of the picture of what you thought it would be like, and learn to find joy in the story, the reality, you’re actually living.

We can release expectation and invite appreciation, and then all the moments of our lives can become openings and opportunities. We can enjoy and rejoice in the Christmas God gives us.
