I went in expecting the worst—and somehow it still disappointed. The only thing this movie gets right is its final conflict, which avoids the usual rom-com misunderstanding and instead focuses on clashing goals and priorities. Unfortunately, that’s the lone bright spot.
Everything else falls flat. There’s zero romantic chemistry, weak comedic timing, and performances that never rise above average. The script feels like a checklist of tired rom-com clichés, and the story ultimately exists just to sell a book rather than tell anything meaningful. No real character growth, no depth, and shockingly boring.
Unless you’re a hardcore fan of the actors or the book, skip this and watch literally any other rom-com.
