Falls can happen any time. For people over the age of 65, falls are the leading cause of injury and preventable death. Traumatic brain injury is one of the most common outcomes of falls in that age group. Join us for this episode where we unpack some common fall risks, how to reduce those risks, and increase resilience when accidents happen.
With people living longer today than at any other time in history, it’s so important to recognize and talk about the ways we can help get the most out of those years. Let us know in the comments if you’ve had to implement any health or behavior changes to protect yourself or a loved one from falls and injury. How has that gone? If you’re a healthcare provider, what factors are most important for your patients in building resilience, or recovering better from injuries over the age of 65?
In upcoming episodes, we’ll talk more about treatment for TBI in older adults, as well as other age groups. Stay tuned and hang in there!
