In life it's natural to let pride and ego get in the way of the very thing God is placing in front of us to help us. Sometimes, it could be a test to see if we're in the position to receive.  We must always pray for the spirit of discernment, but also not forget about His glory, grace, mercy, and most importantly His beauty. He will always go ahead of us because it is He who fights the enemies before us.
