As we roll into 2020, I wanted to outline a few nuggets from 2019 and share some thoughts and ideas for 2020. A new decade beginning, and we are excited to see where this new year and new decade takes us. Today’s episode goes into those memorable moments from the past year and what challenges we are looking to tackle next year.

Wanted to put out one last message before we celebrate the holidays and wind down 2019. Nothing major, no deep thoughts, just thanks, gratitude, love, kindness, and peace. Wrapping up a book right now call Finding Ultra by Rich Roll. Definitely worth the read whether you are an ultra-endurance athlete or not; just some fantastic lessons. This episode closes in on a quote from the book, from his wife, Julie Roll, “So if that was it would you be satisfied with the way you’d pursued your life?” She is asking Rich about his process throughout his life after a bad bicycle crash. Today we did deeper into that and the lessons to take away.

The last few days I have found myself calmer and in a more peaceful state. My sense it has much to do with the race this past Saturday, which I talked about yesterday in a blog post. There are many factors that can attribute to my current state but this morning, while going on my first run since the race, I listened to this Lewis Howes Podcast with Mel Robbins. Her message and quote below provided some further clarity that will make up today’s episode on the RFP Podcast.

There is a great quote from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Why this came into my head this morning while meditating I have no idea but did get me thinking about this recent training block leading up to tomorrows race, making plans, setting expectations, and this week changing fast.
