This week's Raw vs Nitro battle takes place the week before In Your House: Buried Alive. The WWF put on a blockbuster main event; Shawn Michaels vs Stone Cold Steve Austin. Hunter Hearst Helmsley does battle with Freddie Joe Floyd while Mr. Perfect is on the lookout for Hunter's valet, and Vader opens up the show with a match against Phineas Godwinn.
Over on TNT, WCW Nitro is live from the Mid-South Coliseum. Jeff Jarrett vs Hugh Morrus takes place and Jarrett gets a great ovation from the Memphis audience. Elsewhere on the show, Harlem Heat goes to war with The Faces of Fear, and Macho Man Randy Savage gets a video message from Miss. Elizabeth.
