If you are tired of your regular chicken dish, this might be your next option. Although it's not very popular locally, it's one of my favorite dishes. Because of its gravy, this dish goes very well with Rice and Roti or Bread.

You can take it in your lunch box or enjoy it at home. Also, because of the richness of this dish, especially the peanut adds so much flavor you can serve this dish to your guests and on any special occasion.

The ingredients are also not very complex. We need regular spices. The trick is to add a good amount of blended peanuts while cooking.

*The video shows the cooking process step-by-step. I used a whole chicken weighing around 1 kg and added the spices accordingly. You should adjust the spices and ingredients according to your chicken and taste.*

Moreover, I have added texts to the video so you can follow the recipe easily.

I hope you like the recipe and the video. Enjoy!

*Aloe Vera is one of the easiest plants you can grow at home, on your balcony, and in a small pot. Also, it grows new plants from the roots. So if you own one plant and take good care of it, you will get more plants from that one.*

Moreover, it has so many health and medicinal benefits that I believe, having one at our home is a must. I sometimes do skin and hair care with it. Sometimes I add it to our medical drink to cure or detox our body.

During this winter, the plants became a little drier. Also, one pot got so crowded with baby pants that I thought I should replant some in a new planter and make room for the new one.

Today, I have shared how I replanted the Aloe Vera and some tips to take care of the plants. Remember to place them in indirect sunlight and not overwater them. You will get beautiful healthy aloe vera plants at your home.

Enjoy the video.

*If you ask Bangladeshis about their favorite fish, Hilsha would be at the top of the list. It is a very flavorful fish that tastes good no matter how you cook it: with vegetables or without, steamed or fried. It's our national fish too, which means it's a festive food as well.*

Recently, I cooked Hilsha fish with Taro. It's a very bony fish so frying it before cooking can help reduce the sharpness of the bones and enhance the flavor as well. But it's up to you, how you like the texture and flavor.

The cooking process is simple. You can add other vegetables like Brinjal goes very well with this fish. I added the step-by-step process in the video so you can follow it easily.

The trick is, to add fewer spices to enhance the taste of the Hilsha. You don't have to put ginger, garlic, or any other hot spices. Just a few onion slices will boost the taste.

I hope you enjoyed the recipe and will try it.

Street vendors and food vans in front of schools never get an old thing. I still look forward to buying random candies, snacks, toys, and fruits while picking up my son from school.

It feels like a treasure hunt!

Recently, a candy van stopped beside the school campus and I had to see what he was selling. Surprisingly, they were Sesame and Dragon Beard Candy.

*The first one I have shown in the video is called 'Tiler Khaja' in Bangla. It's a sesame sugar candy. Too sweet for my age but when we were children, it was one of our favorites.*

*The second one is called 'Shawn Papri' in Bangla. It's a sugary candy with added flavor and cornstarch. It's so fluffy and melts in the mouth, such a nice treat.*

Both of the sweet snacks brought back our childhood memories. Back then we did not have many options and these local handmade candies were the best treat for the day.

I'm glad I have found them because they are not easy to get from the local vendors. People are now more into fancy snacks so the local makers are lost in time.

These are not that healthy and don't work in a properly hygienic environment. But they were our childhood favorite, local delights, and preserver of our culture. I wish these local sweets and food would be around for many many years, forever would be the best.

###### Urban gardening comes with challenges. But the eminence pleasure it brings in our small space is worth it.

We live in a small apartment in a multi-story building. There's no space for gardening in the ground because of the scarcity of space in this populated city. But that didn't stop me from growing flowers, herbs, and veggies in my small space.

Fortunately, this apartment we rented comes with three different balconies. That helped me dedicate one balcony for flower plants only. As you can guess this is the front balcony.

*This Crown of Thorns and the Madhobilota are in their end season. I'm enjoying them before the flower stops producing for this year.*

This year, I didn't plant any new seeds and couldn't take care of my old plants either. But some old flower plants are still there to make us happy.

Thanks for watching the video.

December was the month of the year-end sale. We usually wait for the whole year for this crazy sale. From 10-70% or if you are lucky you will get to notice even 80% sales on different items.

I'm not a clothes and fashion type of woman but a home decor one. So Goodwill and Dollar Tree types of shops are where I visit more often than any clothing or fashion brands.

*This shop is called **Happy Mart, located in Mohammadpur- Dhaka, Bangladesh**; near by living area. There was up to 20% sale going on during the end of December. I went there to browse the home decor and essential products and bought a few small items.*

Just look at the kitchen utensils and essentials, aren't they very lucrative?

Thanks for watching. I hope you enjoyed the video.

Chotpoti is one of our local popular snacks. Yes, I know it looks like a min course meal but it's not, we consider it a heavy snack. It's a popular street food too.

The recipe is simple yet full of flavors. It's a mix of chickpeas with meat pieces and a lot of spices. You can add different toppings like eggs and cucumbers.

*Chotpoti means something that you can cook quickly. And this recipe goes by its name, quick and easy. It's a famous street food in Bangladesh and the Indian region. You will find many varieties and tastes.*

Cooking Chotpoti at home means I can add whatever toppings I'm craving, customize the texture as per my liking, and the spices as per my mood.

Thanks for watching.

Did you have a terrace garden full of flowers, this many flowers? I have only seen it on screen but this was my first encounter seeing so many colorful flowers on a small terrace like this.

*I sometimes think, about how we can make it possible if we have the will. For example, this type of urban gardening concept. Suppose you live in an apartment like ours with no front or backyard where you can grow something for yourself, then this could be a great option.*

In small pots, and recycled containers how beautifully these plants are growing. And the flowers, so many variety and color; I was amazed stepping into this garden.

I have shared in detail about this garden with the name of each flower in [This](https://peakd.com/hive-140635/@rem-steem/every-color-of-the-winter) post, you can check if you like.

If you are having a hard day over there, enjoy this video of the view of beautiful flowers. My morning started very well with this view.

I wish a morning would look like this every day!

But that is just a wish and it never comes true. Living in a city full of highrises means the concrete buildings welcome us in the morning. And instead of the birds chirping, we hear the traffic.

*This morning was different. I went to Mohammadpur Beribadh area, the nearby riverside to have a morning tea there, walk around the place a little bit, and enjoy the early morning sun; it was all beautiful.*

I shared about this place a few days back in another post with photos. [Here](https://peakd.com/hive-155530/@rem-steem/another-refreshing-walk-by-the-turag-river) is the post. You will find details of the place and see different pictures of the place on the post.

Today, I'm sharing the view of the riverside. I hope you enjoy it.

Have a wonderful day ahead.

*Hilsha is our National fish. So you can guess the hype. It's a very flavourful fish but full of fine bones. So the best to enjoy this fish using your hands or you can deep fry them.*

We usually buy Hilsha once or twice for the whole year during the season, when the price is affordable. So storing them properly is important. Once you store them properly, you can have them for up to 5-6 months.

In this video, I'm sharing how I prepare the fish to store. They will be ready to cook, fry, and make different curries in this way. You can store other fish in this way as well. But Hilsha usually doesn't get a bad smell even after a few months of storing.

I hope it will help you.
