I dedicate this podcast to our Indigenous communities who’s genocide in our lifetime has been our Church and governments greatest war crime. I write for your lost children and for generational healing. I too dedicate this podcast to our Queer and Two-spirit people who’s lives and stories continue to be violently silenced every day by people yielding this sacred text as their weapon. I write for all our inner children who only want to dance and sing and play in their own way.
This podcast is not gospel but it is a testament to the messy, beautiful, heart expansion that I have known the Great Love to be. I am not a theologian, or a scholar but studying and living in these words has been my life’s work. I am a singer, and The Book of Love is my song.
In this episode I talk about the first time I remember feeling joyful and electric at church and how the church has easily spent thousands of years denying the experience of others.
There are stories in the bible we must retell. A retelling is not changing, it is not manipulating, it is not modifying, it is simply standing in our own experience and saying what we see.
There are several ways I would like to invite you to support this work.
The first is just to send me a message, visit me on Instagram at loveleahdeveau or my website at leahdeveau.com Let me know how this landed for you. What memories of your own do these podcasts stir up, what you’d like to hear more of.
Secondly, I have a patreon. It would be such a gift if you would tangibly support this mission. All patreon members receive the same inside scoop info, it’s just a lovely value exchange that we get to play in.
And Thirdly Ill be teaching a course called Evolution NoituLove. NoituLove is Evolution spelled backwards. I figured in order to really deconstruct the patriarchy in these texts and evolve our understandings into modern times we had to pace ourselves backwards. Did you know that Noitu is the Finnish word for Witch and so it only makes sense to me that in order to bring True LOVE back into our sacred texts, to remember our religion as it was intended to be, that we would bring back the sacred feminine, the witch, the healer and explore what her story is within these words.
I am delighted that you’re here. Please like follow rate subscribe all the things because if there’s anything I know, it’s that as distant or separate or damaged or hurt things can feel, so too is the equal and opposite force of connection, belonging, and LOVE. We are going to show up for ALL of it one story and one episode at a time.
