Husky Talk-SNS is back with Sean Mulcahy and I reminiscing about our best times playing UConn Football. We share stories and our memories of big games. Our experiences in NFL Europe and are highly entertaining. We talk about the 2002 season at UConn when we really turned the corner. From the opener at Boston College which we should have won, to a tough loss at Vanderbilt where the referees screwed us over dropping our record to 2-6. Unexpectedly Leigh Torbin picked me to speak at the press conference, and I famously said, "Don't count us out, it ain't basketball season yet."
We then went on a 4-game winning streak with 2 major wins on the road against Navy and a ranked Iowa State who had Senaca Wallace at the time. I remember after the game hugging Coach Randy Edsall. He challenged and pushed me my entire career, it was all worth it for that moment. In the locker room, I thanked freshman Running Back Terry Caulley and Quarterback Dan Orlovsky. Without them, that season would not have been so special. They are two exceptional talents who went on to be UConn legends, star professionally, and have experienced incredible success after football.
It started a run for UConn as the following season they dominated going 9-3, only the 3rd 9-win season in school history. Sean was a captain and finished strong. We talk about NFL Europe and our experiences playing overseas in Germany. A hilarious, can't miss episode!!
