Genesis 50

We've come to the final chapter as we conclude our "Good Plans" series on the life of Joseph. Genesis 50 closes the story with a powerful blend of grief, forgiveness, and enduring faith.

After Jacob dies, Joseph leads a grand Egyptian funeral procession to Canaan to bury his father, fulfilling Jacob’s request. When the brothers fear Joseph will finally retaliate for their past betrayal, he reassures them with one of the Bible’s most memorable declarations of grace—reminding them that though they intended harm, God used it for good.

Genesis 48-49

This week, we'll learn that Jacob is gravely ill as he approaches the end of his life. In a deeply moving moment, the aging patriarch gathers strength to bless Joseph’s two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh. In a surprising twist, Jacob deliberately crosses his arms, giving the greater blessing to Ephraim--the younger son--instead of Manasseh, who was the firstborn. 

What caused him to do this? What was Joseph's reaction? How will this surprising act affect not only the future of Joseph's family, but the nation of Israel as well?

Genesis 47

Genesis 45-46

This week, we find Joseph reconciled to his brothers and calling for them to go home, gather their father and their entire family, and bring them back to Egypt. Will Jacob be able to make such a change? Will God somehow reassure Jacob that this is His good and perfect plan?

Genesis 44

This week, we find Joseph's brothers on the road heading home from Egypt, when they are "caught" with an item from the house of Joseph. Not realizing it was part of a plan, they return to Joseph scared, shaken, and shattered. They bow before him, begging for mercy while fearing the very harshest of punishments.

Why would Joseph set up his brothers? What is he wanting to hear? What will he choose to do?

Genesis 40

Today, we’re going to step into Joseph’s story while he’s still in the waiting room of life—prison. God gives Joseph the ability to interpret others dreams, and in doing so we’ll watch how Joseph handles some trial and testing.

We’ll see how Joseph’s trust in God’s timing carries him through disappointment.
