Continuing message series on the person and power of the Holy Spirit, in particular practical steps to understanding and exercising spiritual gifts in a way that remains grounded in Scripture and centred in Jesus. This message covers the spiritual gifts of faith and healing.

Spiritual gifts are a sign of God’s grace, that they are given to serve others to achieve God’s purposes in extraordinary or supernatural ways, and we can see God at work, we can experience the power of the Holy Spirit in a tangible way. This message covers two of what we could call “revelatory” gifts of the Spirit. The spiritual gifts known as a word of knowledge, and a word of wisdom.

The way we speak to the world, the way we encounter the enemy, the expectations with which we minister to the broken and wounded and despairing is bound up in how we answer the question: Will we or won’t we build the church with the tools God has provided?

It’s time to wake up to the need for church revival and spiritual awakening.

Unlike the early church in Acts 1, we don’t have to pray to receive the Spirit…we already have Him (Ephesians 1:13,14). The question is does He have us? Are we yielding ourselves to him in full surrender? If we were, our churches would be exploding with new disciples! The indwelling Holy Spirit is calling us and giving us His wake-up call! Will we answer that call?

When we gather for worship do we come hungry for the presence of God? Is what we’re doing characterised by the Presence of God? Is the Spirit’s presence evident and are we giving him room to move?
