    Slavery in america was unique in the history of enslavement, because it was based on skin color. there were many that whites decided to choose blacks to serve as their slaves and, still led by those notions of race, whites today perpetuate the slavery pathology. Thus, racist beliefs continue to fester within the cultural and social fabric of american society, shackling blacks as they grope towards more effective ways of improving their living conditions and economic status.
