--what does waiting look like?

--Trust God to come thru on HIS time

--While waiting what do we do or not do?

Is there such a thing as active waiting?

Psalm 37:34

Waiting in our relationships:

--give people time to think, process, to choose, without pressure

--patience as people grow or learn thru bad choices, or sins they commit

--NOT intervene or stop consequences

---don’t overly protect.--don’t rescue too quickly (if we do-- do we enable poor behavior and end up not being helpful???

--healthy versus unhealthy waiting: no effort of the other’s part, toxic relationships, unsafe

Why is it so hard to wait?

We want to be in control, it feels powerless, develops anxiety, we want results yesterday (instant gratification)

When do we stop waiting and act? Acts 22:16

--when God directs us to---how do we know?--when a door opens or an opportunity presents itself

--when waiting is an excuse not to get involved
