In our last episode we had a lot to unpack before we see Jesus bring Lazarus back from the dead. But in this episode, we see Jesus raise Lazarus from the dead. We also see how Jesus cares for us because although He knows the whole time His intent to raise Lazarus from the dead, He still wept for Lazarus and his family. What a Mighty God we serve!

We start chapter 11 of the Book of John. In this episode, we look at another one of Jesus' miracles: the raising of his friend Lazarus from the dead.  Jesus told Martha-- and us--that those who believe in Him will have everlasting life even though our physical bodies die!

We finish chapter 10 of the Book of John.  It's a few months later after Jesus's encounter with the religious leaders after He healed the man born blind.  Jesus is back in Jerusalem during the Feast of Dedication.  While Jesus is at the Jewish Temple, some of the religious leaders surround Him. They have stones ready to stone Jesus. They dare Jesus to say He is the Messiah so they can stone Him to death. Jesus tells them He has already told them that He is the Messiah, and Jesus goes a step further and tells them He gives eternal life to His believers.  He also tells the religious leaders that He and God the Father are One.

In this episode, we continue our study of chapter 10 of the Book of John; specifically, verses 12-21. Jesus is still using the analogy of the shepherd and the sheep to explain to the Pharisees, and those listening, that He is the Good Shepherd. Jesus tells them that unlike the Good Shepherd, a hired hand (the religious leaders) will look after the sheep as long as he is getting some benefits and is not in danger. But He, as the Good Shepherd, will lay down his life for His sheep.  Jesus also tells them that there are other sheep (the Gentiles) that are not of that sheep pen (the Jews) that He will save too.  In other words, Jesus is telling them that He came to die for both Jews and Gentiles.

In this episode, we start chapter 10 of the Book of John.  Jesus is still talking with the Pharisees after healing the man born blind. He uses the analogy of the shepherd  and the sheep to explain to the Pharisees, and those listening, that  He is the Good Shepherd and His sheep (those who believe in Him and confess Him as Lord and Savior) knows His voice and follows him.  Jesus tells them that as the Good Shepherd  He will lay down His life for His sheep, which He did on the cross.  Jesus died for our sins. He paid our penalty.  But He was raised from the dead because He was and is sinless.

We conclude chapter 9 of the Book of John. We are still in the story of the man who was born blind that Jesus gave sight to. Because the formerly blind man would not lie about who healed him and because he exposed the Pharisees' hypocrisy, they excommunicated him from the Jewish Synagogue. Jesus hears about this and reveals to the man that He is the Messiah. The man believed Jesus and worshiped Jesus.

In this episode, we start chapter nine of the Book of John.  Jesus gives a man who was blind from birth his sight. As usual, the Pharisees are upset because Jesus heals a man on the Sabbath.  Can you image that: being upset with someone for healing someone.  Then they try to intimidate the healed man and his family to get him to change his story about who healed him. But the healed man wouldn't change his story. Why? Because as he declared, "'Whether he is a sinner or not, I don't know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!'"

In this episode, we  finish chapter 8 of the Book of John.  We look at verses 46-59.  Jesus is still in the Temple's court area responding to the Pharisees' challenge to who He is and His authority. When Jesus challenges the Pharisees to point to any sin He has committed and they can't, because Jesus is sinless, so they start to insult Jesus. They called Him a "Samaritan" which was the lowest of insults because the Jews despised them as corrupt, half-breeds. They also called Jesus demon possessed.  In turn, Jesus continued to tell the truth of if they would obey Him they would never die.  Ultimately, Jesus reveals to them and everyone listening that He is God by identifying as "I AM." All the Jews knew Jesus was saying He was God by saying He was "I AM."  As a result , they tried to stone Him.

In this episode, we continue our study of John, chapter 8; specifically, verses 33-45.  Jesus is still in the Temple's court area responding to the Pharisees' challenge to who He is and His authority. In response to Jesus' explanation that the Truth shall set them free, the Pharisees don't  understand His meaning, thus, they claim not to be enslaved but are instead "sons" of Abraham.  Jesus tells them that they are not "sons" of Abraham spiritually because they didn't obey God like Abraham did. Jesus tells them their father is Satan  because they are liars and murderers like Satan.
