Repentance or Reputation, which is more important? 

In this podcast I share from 1 Samuel 15 concerning the encounter/ confrontation of Samuel with Saul. The Lord gave Saul direct instructions to totally destroy all that belonged to the Amalekites. Saul decided to spare the best of the cattle, lambs and good things as well as the King Agag. The consequences of disobedience is:- lies, self-honouring, blaming others and trying to talk oneself out of a bind. Saul was sincere but he did not truly repent. He was more worries about losing face with the people and his position than losing his relationship with God. Chapter 15 closes with Samuel putting Agag to death and also never visiting Saul again thereafter. We still have a hope, that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.
