If you love Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Judy Greer, then you're going to enjoy this one. You'll probably be less excited if you're hoping to hear scientifically grounded hypotheses about time travel, well-researched explorations of magazine industry political dynamics, or effusive praise for this movie's wardrobe choices.

In which we double down on two of this podcast's strongest themes: Chris likes movies where men dress as women, and Brie has a solid to severe case of face-blindness. Other topics include when Geena Davis was on set, what men think feminism is, and where best to display your loose ears of corn.

While you're waiting in line to vote, why not listen to Chris and Brie discuss the deadly consequences of pledging unquestioning loyalty to a pompous, rage-fueled old white man in a position of unchecked power? (We swear we didn't plan this.) Don't worry, it's mostly the usual digressions into where to buy lamps, what else that assistant lady has been in, and when it's OK to eat an apple.

Our hosts put this whole "we have the same sense of humor" hypothesis to the test with Disney's Y2K foray into irreverent comedy. Chris reaches bold new volumes in screaming about how much he loves Eartha Kitt's performance, Brie finds surprising new variants on Patrick Warburton's last name, and they collectively assess which animals make the best soldiers and whether Kuzco should have died at the end of the movie.
(Future episodes will eventually include plot synopses, but for now you'll have to either watch it yourself or read the Wikipedia entry.)

Finishing off the two-part premiere, Brie introduces Chris to The Sting. Hot topics include appropriate running attire, the pros and cons of rudeness as a seduction technique and/or murder plot, sex workers on carnival rides, and of course the perennial favorite: women's perpetual, entirely justified anger.

In the first half of their double feature premiere, Chris forces Brie to watch The Fifth Element. Experience their increasing confusion and rage as they cover which characters actually speak to each other, what planning for an event 5,000 years in the future should entail, and how director Luc Besson treated the women in his film (specifically the two he married). Also, enjoy the irony as they unselfconsciously critique Ruby Rhod for putting out lifeless audio content.

While our podcast will normally involve watching and discussing a movie, we figured we'd start off easy with a little intro about who we are, what we do, why we do it, and why we think you should listen to it. If this five minutes with us was fun, then maybe tune in for future episodes! We've got some wild observations on several films (and other tangentially related topics) coming your way. And if this brief explanation didn't do it for you, then you'll probably find the weekly hour-long conversations to be a real chore. But hey, at least you know now.
