Join me for a conversation with Hector Zavala on working across disciplines and countries, in the ninth episode of the Repurpose Your Purpose Podcast.
Hector and I met many years ago in San Francisco and immediately connected because of our love of art and storytelling. In this conversation, Hector shared with me how they fell in love with acting, costume making, and dance; why they don't believe in being a starving artist; how they choose and create their projects; what they're up to these days; and their take on Inner Wisdom.
Oh, and Hector comes up with an idea for a future show - so if it ever happens...you saw it here first :D
And now, without further ado, Hector Zavala!
HECTOR ZAVALA is a Queer Latinx Renaissance human. Their work brings together their experience in Performative Art, Acting, Dance, Multimedia, Costumes, Set Design and their love for theater, to create a unique point of view grounded in the personal as a universal struggle.
A founding member of artist collective Latinx Mafia, they have participated in international festivals such as FITLA, (International Latin Theater Festival of Los Angeles), the Edinburgh Theater Festival, and the Ibero-American Art Festival.
Most recently Hector also participated in the 51st International Cervantino Festival, representing the United States.
