If you were to give a survey and ask most 9-5 employees how important transparency is to them, they'd likely rank it high on their list of attributes. Yet, according to the American Psychological Association, only 52 percent of workers believe their employer is open and upfront with them. Yikes! Transparency not only allows you to cultivate meaningful relationships in the workplace, but it also plays a major role in employee retention. On this episode, I share my experiences in dealing with not-so-transparent leaders, and I share a few suggestions as to how you can be more transparent in your leadership.
