Story Transcript:

Ru: По утрам в полицейском участке всегда шумно, особенно весной.
En: In the mornings, the police station is always noisy, especially in the spring.

Ru: Люди приходят и уходят, заполняя коридоры своим гулом.
En: People come and go, filling the corridors with their chatter.

Ru: На стенах висят праздничные плакаты, ведь скоро День Победы.
En: Holiday posters hang on the walls because Den Pobedy, Victory Day, is approaching.

Ru: Атмосфера полна ожидания, но в то же время серьёзности.
En: The atmosphere is full of anticipation, but at the same time, seriousness.

Ru: В одной из комнат сидит Игорь, средних лет мужчина.
En: In one of the rooms sits Igor, a middle-aged man.

Ru: У него усталые глаза и мрачное лицо.
En: His eyes are tired, and he has a grim face.

Ru: Он пришел сюда с важной целью — найти украденный самовар, самый ценный предмет в его семье.
En: He came here with an important purpose – to find a stolen samovar, the most valuable item in his family.

Ru: Самовар передавался из поколения в поколение и особенно важен в преддверии праздника.
En: The samovar has been passed down from generation to generation and is especially important on the eve of the holiday.

Ru: Рядом с ним сидит его сестра Анна, тихая и взволнованная.
En: Next to him sits his sister Anna, quiet and anxious.

Ru: Она беспокоится из-за раздоров в семье.
En: She is worried about the family discord.

Ru: Игорь уже рассказал полицейскому, что подозревает Виктора — их кузена.
En: Igor has already told the police officer that he suspects Viktor – their cousin.

Ru: После разговора с полицией, Игорь решает действовать сам.
En: After talking to the police, Igor decides to act on his own.

Ru: Он начинает узнавать информацию о Викторе, звонит дальним родственникам, едет к старым друзьям.
En: He starts gathering information about Viktor, calls distant relatives, visits old friends.

En: — I thought one of our relatives who is in debt would sell it.

Ru: Хотел защитить.

Ru: Не думал, что так получится.

Ru: На этот раз Анна присоединяется к разговору.
En: This time, Anna joins the conversation.

Ru: Она мягко говорит:— Мы должны общаться больше, не только по праздникам.
En: She gently says: — We need to communicate more, not just on holidays.

Ru: Постепенно разговор становится спокойнее.
En: Gradually, the conversation becomes calmer.

Ru: Семья собирается вместе на ужин.
En: The family gathers together for dinner.
