Here the Beckies talk about their Speech & Communication Play sessions with families. 
Our sessions are held outdoors without regular toys or equipment. They are in a natural environment that supports the child's choice and ideas.  The space is as large as possible and there is time to play and talk with parents and families. 
What have we noticed happening ?
What were Becky's concerns as a Speech Therapist without her everyday bag of props?
How have we learnt from the children ?
Do families really benefit from this 45 minute session and what communications and interactions are created?
Are pattern's in children's play are seen?
Do children communicate more outdoors?
Is it easier for children and adults to listen outdoors?
Discover more about the concept of changing your environment and your expectations, there is always opportunity to challenge the way we do things, we just have to grasp it and make the first move.
Change creates opportunity and you can always go back to your tried and tested ways if you feel it doesn't work.
