Mateo Peralta has lived a whole lot of life in his 20-something years in this world. From moving around between multiple countries in his childhood to being a leader and mentor on his university campus, Mateo could never could have imagined the events that overtook his life when he was diagnosed with Cancer a few years ago. In this podcast episode, Mateo candidly shares his story of resilience and overcoming obstacles — and, in a fashion that those who know him recognize as typical of his personality, he does so with extreme grace, quirk and even humour. In this powerful conversation, Mateo and I discuss his mindset during sickness and recovery, how he reclaimed his love for reading and used it as a form of exploration, and — zooming into right now — Mateo draws parallels between the sense of isolation he experienced then to provide wisdom on moving forward with the current state of the world.
