Preventing pollution in our waterways is vital to the health of all South Florida communities. We visited Emilio Lopez, CEO of SOP Technologies, a company with patented technology to prevent leaves, litter, and debris from entering stormwater systems and discharging to waterways. We sat down with Emilio and discussed their mission "Stop Ocean Pollution," their products that help decrease water pollution, the importance of advocating for a cleaner Biscayne Bay, and how technology innovations are helping to keep our waterways clean. We had the pleasure of attending the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) ceremony for the Four Seasons Surf Club Residences and Hotel on Miami Beach, Florida. An amazing property showcasing the repurposing of the original property, green infrastructure features and new sustainable construction. We spoke with the team from SEQUIL Systems, Inc. on how they helped the Four Seasons achieve their LEED silver certification as well as the work they do with the U.S. Green Building Council.
