We're back for round two of the Holodeck games!  This week Amber and Paige highlight some of the things they enjoy about Holodeck centric plots, and some of their favorite Holodeck episodes.  

So the Holodeck is totally cool and a rad bit of sci-fi invention- right?  Turns out, enjoying it might take a little more suspension of disbelief than the girls are willing to give it.  This week Amber and Paige get into the dirt with their (read: Paige's) least favorite and most problematic piece of technological Trek voodoo.  And in true RIFpod fashion, what started as a single episode has become a three part mini-series...so sit back and ponder along as we ask the really essential questions, like: How the heck do you make holographic wetness??

It's time to talk skin and aliens, and who better to start with than our favorite female forward culture- Betazoids!  This week Paige and Amber get in touch with their empathic sides in this conversation about what it means to live in a culture where being emotionally naked is a fact of life.  Get on board with us as we take on nudity in the stars. 

They're naked!  We're angry!  Need we say more to get your attention?  This week Paige and Amber pull back the boudoir curtain to air all the Trek dirty laundry and hunt down every scrap of bared skin they can find.  They talk titillation, toplessness, and the travesty that is Justice.

This week, we're taking a break from the thematic arcs, and going on a side mission. Amber and Paige take a deep dive into some of the original women who paved the way to the stars- where no woman had gone before.  

This week it's all about the babes...Space Babes that is.  Listen in as Paige and Amber tackle a somewhat troublesome trope, analyzing the different Babes we see throughout the different series' and what makes them so babelicious.  Plus Paige has another classification system- so buckle in for the science of 'Babe'!

Rape is not a plot device.  This week, the girls dive into the thorny woods of violence against women, and Trek episodes which specifically use physical and mental violation of women as their main plot device.  What is the message these episodes send to viewers, and in a series of shows with the lofty goal of presenting a utopian future, is it too much to ask for plots that don't hinge on violence against women?  

This week, the ladies discuss the Kirk smirk, randy Riker, charming Chakotay and the ‘Boys will be Boys’ nature of Star Trek.  Does Star Trek really portray womanizers?  Why is there one in every cast and why do we love to love them?  In addition, we touch on the cultural perception of women enjoying sex and the contrast of the Maneater vs. the Ladies Man.
