Listen Later

Join us for a raw conversation with $work activists Vixen Temple and Madeline Rose as we dive into the complex world of respectability politics and tone policing in $work activism. We'll explore how societal expectations of "respectability" can be used to silence and marginalize $workers, particularly those who express anger or frustration about the injustices we face.

The term 'politics of respectability' was coined by Professor Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham in her 1993 book Righteous Discontent: The Women's Monument in the Black Baptist Church.
