Hello and welcome to the NGFP Local Lunch which reveals everything you need to know about Nottingham’s local food heroes and how you can get more involved in our vibrant local food scene!
Local lunch is brought to you by Nottingham Good Food Partnership the go to organisation for sustainable food in our fair city. Your Hosts me shona Munro and me Penney Poyzer will introduce you to local people making a difference to our food system. Today we will be meeting Laura Mae Brown, vice chair Nottingham Good Food Partnership and community and education engagement manager. Laura has managed several projects relating holiday hunger programmes bringing BITC volunteers to work at the sharp end of supporting food poverty.
The lunch today is a pumpkin, kale and swede risotto - totally seasonal and local accompanied by delicious sourdough focaccia from Small Food Bakery.
In this week's local food news you will hear about Bulwell Forest Garden and the launch of the Men’s Shed which is meeting space for men who feel lonely or isolated to find solace and support.
Next week tune in and meet our guest Paul Paine - who we know as neckie. Paul is a highly experienced permaculturist and forest garden practitioner. We will hear about the ecoworks garden which can be found at the beautiful St Ann’s Allotments just off Ransome Road. Its going to be fascinating!
