Marge is a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native raised in the Penn Hills.  She went from a shy, chubby young woman to being the champion of four major 100-mile races and broke course records across the country, including the Leadville Trail 100, Mohican Trail, Kettle Moraine and Umstead Trail 100.  As well as many other races and athletic accomplishments over the last forty-one years.  Marge is also a fourteen-time finisher of the Leadville 100, four-time big buckle achiever, holds the record for most finishes by a woman and was women’s champion in 1985.  Marge is also the co-author of Leadville Trail 100: History of the Leadville Trail 100 Mile Running Race.

Timmy Howard’s powerful story serves as a testament to the transformative power of fitness and community. After struggling with drug addiction and homelessness, he found a new sense of purpose and belonging through competing in Ironman competitions and ultra marathons. This inspiring journey shows how the support and belief of others can help individuals realize their own worth and overcome challenging circumstances. When you are going through hell just keep going. These are words Phil de Gruy would say over and over as he battled cancer. Phil turned to ultra running to help fight his second cancer diagnosis. This is a great story of hope, determination and finding your purpose in life. Phil’s story is a testament to the power of the human spirit. He is an example of resilience, strength and courage in the face of adversity. In many ways, his story serves as a reminder that something great can be born from something hard.

Our friend Meghan is back on the pod to share the ups and downs of injury, surgery and recovery. Meghan has been running ultras for a few years and practicing yoga for even longer. She suffered a labrum tear and spent several months trying to heal and keep doing what she loves before ultimately getting surgery. Several weeks post operation she is doing great and getting stronger. Through her story, Meghan emphasizes the importance of having a recovery plan, staying active, and being kind to yourself during the healing process and how important it is to take care of both our physical and mental well-being. This event takes place in stunning southern New Hampshire and offers options for 6, 12, 24, or even 30 hours, allowing participants to challenge themselves at their own pace. Angela is an accomplished ultra-runner and the first woman from Louisiana to complete the challenging Bigfoot 200. Not only has she completed this incredible feat, but she has also conquered several other impressive ultras, including Orcas Island 100, Cruel Jewel 50, and the Canal Corridor 100.  She is also the co-owner and director of Lazy Hound Racing, showcasing her dedication and passion for the sport. Angela is always up for a new adventure and pushing her limits. Angela also enjoys traveling, making connections, and capturing beautiful moments through her photography. Her determination to push her limits and discover new adventures is truly inspiring, and she lives by the motto of "just start, get up and try."
