Part 8 of the series in the book of Isaiah. Prophecies of a future final judgement of the whole earth, the rolling away of death and wiping away of tears, and the resurrection of the dead as God's kingdom is established in full.

Part 7 of the series in the book of Isaiah. Woe upon various nations - Egypt, Edom, Arabia, Babylon and even Jerusalem itself - but also hope of a time when Egypt and Assyria will join Judah in worship of God.

A song taunting the arrogant king of Babylon and oracles against Assyria, Philistia, Moab and Cush, all laced with the hope that God will bring down the proud and protect His people.

Part 5 of the series in Isaiah. Prophecies about the peaceful kingdom of the root and shoot of Jesse and the judgement of Babylon sandwich a beautiful song of praise and thanksgiving.

Part 4 of the series in Isaiah. A wonderful prophecy of the Messiah who will establish justice, followed by prnouncements of judgement on Israel and then on Assyria. Finally the assurance that a remnant will be preserved and Jerusalem will not fall to Assyria.

Part 3 of the series in Isaiah. In the context of fear among the people of Judah of Syria and Israel, God gives signs through two children of judgement through the Assyrians and hope from His presence as a rock. The Immanuel prophecy has an immediate horizon and a long term fulfilment in Jesus.

Part 2 of the series in Isaiah. Prophecies of hope in the branch of the Lord and judgement on the people (the vineyard) of the Lord, and Isaiah's vision of God's holiness and calling into prophetic ministry.

Part 1 of a series in Isaiah. God's judgement for Judah's sins - oppressive injustice, religious hypocrisy, and idolatrous pride - but also a vision of a glorious future when Jerusalem will be lifted up.

Part 21 of the series in 1 and 2 Chronicles. The end of Josiah's reign and the succession of weak kings after him and exiles to Babylon until Jerusalem's destruction in 586 BC. But also the decree of Cyrus to allow a return and rebuilding.

Part 20 of the series in 1 and 2 Chronicles. The reigns of Manasseh, Amon and Josiah. Josiah's reforms lay the foundaiton for a faithful people in exile as prophesied by Huldah.
