Fifty days after Firstfruits is the Feast of Pentecost, which pictures the formation of the church. At Pentecost, the Jews celebrated the giving of the Law, but Christians celebrate the giving of the Holy Spirit to the church.

The Feast of Firstfruits took place on the day after the Sabbath following Passover, which means it was always on the first day of the week. (The Sabbath is the seventh day.) Jesus arose from the dead on the first day of the week and “became the firstfruits of them that slept” (1 Cor. 15:20). Now, if Pentecost was fifty days later—seven weeks plus one day—then Pentecost also took place on the first day of the week. Christians assemble and worship on Sunday, the first day of the week, because on that day our Lord arose from the dead, but it was also the day on which the Holy Spirit was given to the church.

What do you think and feel when you hear the word freedom?

We usually associate it with the right to live as

we please and pursue our ambitions and dreams.

However, Jesus spoke of a deeper aspect of

freedom that pertains to the state of our souls.

God wants to free us from every internal form

of bondage that prevents us from becoming the

person He created us to be. This kind of freedom

is not achieved by war and revolution but by the

knowledge of truth. Jesus said, “If you continue

in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine;

and you will know the truth, and the truth will

make you free” (John 8:31-32).

Are you trapped in despair, doubt or anxiety? We all have been there and maybe right there right now. We all must learn to release the power of praise. The Apostle Paul’s letter to the Philippians is one of the Bible’s most unique books. Some scholars call it "the epistle of joy" because the word "joy" or "rejoice" appears 16 times through the letter. Yet what is amazing is that this letter about Christian joy was written from a prison cell! Philippians 4:4-9

The Christian life is a feast, not a funeral, and all are invited to come. Each of us as believers must spread abroad the message, “Come, for all things are now ready!” God wants to see His house filled, and “yet there is room.” Luke 14:15-24

We hear the phrase "Off the Chart", many times, and our minds would think of professional singers who have made hit records and their sales have gone off the chart. Going off the chart is not only for professional singers, athletics, and businesses that described their services or products as being off the chart. God has given every Believer the opportunity to go "off the chart", base on our expectations and how we think. (Ephesians 3:20)

Not growing weary and waiting on the Lord prepares one for the great promise, “they shall mount up with wings as eagles”. Many times in the midst of our waiting we become stagnant, and it is necessary that we must do something to bring about change. Instead of waiting for the water to be stirred, we must do something to stir up the water, and one way to stir up the water is by stirring up the gift on the inside of us.

What is it God wants you to do? Do you find it impossible to believe? The truth is, whatever God wants from you, it probably will be even more impossible than you could imagine. Yet, when you obey Him and trust Him each step of the way, it will make sense what He wants you to do. God is accomplishing His purposes on earth through men and women today, just as He did during Gideon’s time. Judges 6-7

Before Jesus gave up the ghost on the cross, He made the statement, “It is finished”. Jesus finished everything that would bring salvation, deliverance, and eternal life to every person that believes in His death, burial, and resurrection. It is now our time to do the things required of us as Believers through the resurrection power that is in us; giving us the ability to lay aside, to put off, to put on, and to guard our hearts, as we walk through the process of sanctification.

Our connections in life are very important, some may bring financial gain, new jobs, new friends, open doors, but the greatest connection any person could have is his or her connection with God through Jesus Christ.

John 15:1-9

According to Martial, “It is to live twice, when we can enjoy the recollections of our former life”. This generation can only enjoy the recollections of our life as we share it with them, especially in storytelling; otherwise they will never have a clue as to the things their grandparents and older relatives experienced back in the day.
