Sometimes live doesn't turn out like you dreamed. When we forget that God can't be boxed into our projections, we often fall into despondency. It doesn't have to be that way when remember the whispering grace of God.

The real Jesus confounds us and then humbly loves and serves those he confuses.

God uses the language of love to communicate to us. But God has a love problem. There are questions to be dealt with related to this love problem.

Wisdom is in short supply in our dark times. The prophet describes Jesus and a Wonderful Counselor. In this teaching we learn how to wonder our way to wisdom.

the question "Why?" is ubequtous during tragedies and suffering. Satan tried to discredit Job's relationship with God with suffering and yet God used pain in Job's life to prove Satan wrong.

Satan lied and God loves.

If you have ever felt as if God seems silent when you are hurting, lonely or confused...you are not alone.

Can you name me one person in the Bible who did not go through some period of suffering or of feeling God’s silence? All did. Even the mother of God.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t like to have my plans interrupted. For I know the plans I have for me, plans to make me happy, very happy, and I do not want those plans interrupted. The problem, though, is that life is filled with interruptions, isn’t it? Some of them wanted, and most of them not.

Mary seems to understand a couple of things about interruptions that we don’t, and that allows her to say yes to God.

When you and I REALLY begin to follow Jesus, not just go to church but really follow him, he takes our passions, our skills, our gifts and redirects them toward his bigger purpose, and we become more than we think we are.

I read through the Bible and I get a picture of this daring, risk-taking, bold, radically welcoming crazy community of people called the church, and then I think of how we at least stereotype the church. The stereotype of church is of this safe, comfortable, kind of boring place for nice people. Sort of Mr. Rogers, only not as wild.

Jesus brings his kingdom in us by seeking us, forgiving and accepting us, putting us around other people, and asking us to build his kingdom with him. All of that changes us.
