Pastor David teaches that how others view us can make us feel worthless at times. Fortunately for us, the Lord does not judge us as the world does, but by His own standards and how He sees us. He cares more about our hearts and our character than anything else. Those that have been looked over by others are beloved of God. God often uses those that have been rejected to do great things through Him. If you’ve felt worthless because of how others have viewed you or overlooked you, God has selected you for His plan and purpose. That does not make us worthless, it makes us worth it all.

Pastor Justin shares that we are very hard on ourselves and a lot of times we disqualify ourselves because we don’t believe we are worthy. This happened in the life of Isaiah. He thought he was unworthy of the calling God put on his life as a prophet because of his sin. He judged himself harshly and had pity for his sinful condition. We have all fallen short and have sinned but that does not disqualify us from the calling of God on our lives. God’s redemptive work in us through repentance of our sins restores us to what He knows we can become so that we can be used for great things.

Pastor Justin explains that the enemy, Satan, would love nothing more than to steal our purpose and calling from our lives. He lies, cheats, steals, and accuses to oppress us. The way you know that you are being attacked is when you are not experiencing the freedom that is found in God’s presence. God is calling you out of what has held you captive. Don’t you know that you are special to God? The enemy wants to steal our identity through accusations that are not true. God rejects these accusations because God sees us as more than just our past mistakes. God’s grace is sufficient to cover all our sins.

Pastor David shares that we were created by God to fulfill His purpose and plan for our lives. This means that we are always on a mission to bring the Good News to all that we know and meet. We must be committed to this mission, using our time, talents, and resources which includes our money for the expansion of the Kingdom of God wherever we go. There is no other way of people knowing Christ without us sharing the Good News. Sharing the Good News is all of our responsibility.

Pastor Justin explains why we need to serve. We serve because Jesus was a servant. We are to serve everyone. We don’t serve people because they deserve to be served but because we love God. When we serve others, we are serving God. Our faith will lead us into serving because good works or serving is the result of faith. Serving is using the gifts that God has given us to benefit others. It doesn’t do any good to say that we believe in helping people, but never actually help anyone. We serve people at every opportunity as we are able to do so. We serve others because when we do God is glorified. 

Pastor David teaches that Christians always need to be spiritually growing to become more like Christ in every way, every day of our lives. True followers of Christ are growing disciples. We can not be a disciple without being disciplined in our lives. There are four main spiritual habits, time with God’s Word, prayer, giving, and fellowship that will help us become more like Christ and be His true disciple. If we are going to be Christ-like then we must develop the habits that Christ had.

Pastor Justin shares the purpose of Restoration Church’s existence to give the hope of a second chance in a new life in Jesus. If you are an imperfect person, you are lost, broken, down and out, suffering from addiction, lonely, our hurting, we welcome you home! A second chance is available through salvation through Jesus Christ. A second chance is possible even after salvation as God always gives us a second chance as He washes away every sin as far as the east is to the west. Restoration is God’s plan for humanity and it is what we live and breathe at Restoration Church.
