A Precious Moments Saviour in a Terminator World

1 John 5:5

      For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world--our [continuing, persistant] faith[in Jesus the Son of God].  Who is the one who is victorious and overcomes the world? It is the one who believes and recognizes the fact that Jesus is the Son of God.

John 16:33

      "I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. Int his world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Peace, trouble, and Courage

Romans 5:8, 10

      8*but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 10*For if while we were enemieswe were reconciled, to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we have reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.

      17*For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in the life through the one man Jesus Christ.

You have to identify with the overcoming Jesus.

Overcoming the Monster

1 John 5:1, 4-5

      1* Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God..For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world.  And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. 5* Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

Genesis 1:28  

      Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion...

     Subdue--overcome, quieten, or bring under control

Genesis 3:8-13

      And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselvesfrom the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.  Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?"  So he said, "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself."  And hesaid, "Who told you that you were naked?       This is the rock on which I will put together my church, a church so expansive with energy that not even the gates if hell will be able to keep it out.

Ephesians 3:20-21
