Day 246 — “They Will Look on Him”
Zechariah 12:10

Hundreds of years before the cross, God foretold that His people would one day look upon the One they had pierced.

Zechariah 12:10 points us directly to Jesus.

The cross was not an accident. Jesus was not simply the victim of Roman cruelty. He willingly suffered so that sinners could be redeemed.

Our sin was serious enough to require the death of Christ, but God’s grace was great enough to provide the sacrifice.

The cross reminds us of two truths we should never forget:

Our sin is greater than we often realize.
God’s grace is greater than we could ever imagine.

The One who was pierced for our transgressions rose from the grave and is coming again as King.

Today, look again to Jesus.

The wounds of Christ are not proof that your sin is beyond forgiveness. They are proof of how far God was willing to go to provide it.

Day 245 — Your King Is Coming
Zechariah 9:9–17

Zechariah gave God’s people a promise they desperately needed to hear: “Your King is coming.”

Jesus came the first time in humility, riding on a donkey. He came not merely to change governments, but to defeat sin, purchase our redemption, and set sinners free through the blood of the covenant.

And Zechariah reminds us that our hope is not built on circumstances getting better. We are called “prisoners of hope”because our confidence is anchored in the character and promises of God.

The King who came in humility will come again in glory.

So when the world feels uncertain, remember this:

Our circumstances may be uncertain, but our King is not.
Our world may shake, but His throne does not.
Our plans may change, but His purposes never will.

Your King came.
Your King conquered.
Your King reigns.
And your King is coming again.

Episode 7 — When Temptation Comes

Temptation is going to knock.

But the knock is not the same thing as opening the door.

In this episode of the UNSEEN Podcast Series, we look at what Scripture actually teaches about how temptation works—and how believers can fight it before it becomes sin.

• prepare specific Scripture for specific battles
• take the way of escape God provides
• and trust Christ more than the promise temptation is making

Don’t negotiate at the door.

Answer temptation with truth.

Day 244 — “Consider Your Ways”
Haggai 1

God’s people had time to build their own houses, pursue their own plans, and focus on their own priorities—but the house of God remained neglected.

So the Lord gave them a simple but piercing command:

“Consider your ways.”

Haggai reminds us that delayed obedience can easily become disobedience. We can stay busy, productive, and successful on the outside while slowly allowing our spiritual lives to fall into ruin.

The question is not simply, “What am I doing?”
The deeper question is, “What am I putting first?”

When the people repented and obeyed, God gave them this powerful promise:

“I am with you.” — Haggai 1:13

Today, take an honest look at your priorities. What gets your best time, energy, attention, and affection?

Consider your ways. Put God first. Obey what He has shown you. And trust Him with everything that follows.

Day 243 — “Guarding What God Has Restored”
📖 Nehemiah 13

Nehemiah 13 is a sobering reminder that spiritual victory yesterday does not guarantee faithfulness tomorrow.

The walls were rebuilt. Worship had been restored. The people had confessed their sin and renewed their covenant commitments.

But when Nehemiah returned to Jerusalem, compromise had already begun creeping back in.

The temple was being misused.
Worship was being neglected.
The Sabbath was being dishonored.
Ungodly influences were pulling hearts away from God.

The lesson is clear:

What God restores must be guarded.

Compromise rarely begins with open rebellion. Often, it simply asks for a little room.

A habit we tolerate.
A boundary we stop protecting.
A conviction we begin weakening.
An area of obedience we slowly neglect.

Nehemiah could rebuild walls, cleanse rooms, close gates, and confront sin—but he could not change the human heart.

That is why we ultimately need Jesus.

Christ does more than improve our behavior. He forgives our sin, gives new life, and transforms us from the inside out.

So guard what God has restored in your life.

Keep the wrong influences out. Close the gates temptation keeps using. Stay near the Word. Stay faithful in worship. And keep your heart close to Christ.

Day 242 — “A Covenant Renewed”
📖 Nehemiah 9

Nehemiah 9 reminds us that real repentance begins when we see God clearly and allow His Word to expose our hearts.

Israel looked back and saw a painful pattern: God had been faithful again and again, while they had repeatedly wandered, rebelled, and disobeyed.

Yet one truth stood above all the rest:

“But You are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love.” — Nehemiah 9:17

That is the heart of repentance.

We stop making excuses.
We stop minimizing sin.
We agree with God about what is wrong.
And then we turn back to the God who is rich in mercy.

The good news is that we do not have to hide from God. Through Jesus Christ, forgiveness is available, cleansing is possible, and grace invites us home.

Repentance does not drive us away from God’s grace. It brings us back to the God who has been faithful all along.

DAY 241 — REVIVED BY THE WORD
Nehemiah 8

What does real spiritual renewal look like?

In Nehemiah 8, the walls of Jerusalem had been rebuilt—but God wasn't finished. The city had been restored, but now the hearts of the people needed to be restored.

So they gathered and asked Ezra to bring out the Word of God. They listened. They understood. They were convicted. And then they obeyed. Nehemiah 8:8 emphasizes that God's Word was not merely read—it was explained so the people could understand it.

That's the pattern of renewal:

📖 Read the Word.
💡 Understand the Word.
❤️ Let the Word confront you.
👣 Obey the Word.

The people wept when they realized how far they had wandered, but conviction wasn't the end of the story. Their sorrow gave way to joy as they responded to what God had said.

Maybe the question isn't, “What new thing do I need God to tell me?”

Maybe it's:

“What has God already told me in His Word that I need to obey?”

Renewal begins when God's Word becomes central again.

Don't just hear it.
Don't just know it.
Live it.

Day 240 — “Rebuilding with Resolve”
📖 Nehemiah 4

Doing God’s work does not mean we will avoid opposition.

As the people rebuilt Jerusalem’s walls, they faced ridicule, threats, exhaustion, and fear. But Nehemiah called them to do something simple and powerful:

“Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome.” — Nehemiah 4:14

They prayed.
They stood guard.
They kept building.
And they trusted that God would fight for them.

Sometimes faithfulness means continuing even when the work is hard, the criticism is loud, and your strength feels small.

Don’t let opposition convince you to abandon what God has called you to do.

Pray. Stand firm. Pick up your tools. And keep building.

Because our confidence is not in our strength—it is in the greatness and faithfulness of our God.

UNSEEN — Episode 6: The War Within
Galatians 5:16–17 | Romans 7:15–25

Not every battle is the devil.

Sometimes the battle is happening within us.

Scripture reminds us that the Christian life involves a real conflict between the flesh and the Spirit. Satan is real. Spiritual attack is real. But so are our own sinful desires—and spiritual maturity means learning to recognize the difference.

Some things need to be resisted.
Some things need to be rejected.
And some things need to be repented of.

The good news is that we are not left to fight this battle in our own strength. Through Christ, sin’s dominion has been broken, and the Holy Spirit now lives within every believer.

So stop feeding what God is calling you to put to death. Bring the battle into the light. Walk by the Spirit. And remember:

You are not fighting for victory—you are fighting from the victory Jesus has already won.

Day 239 — “Arise and Build”
📖 Nehemiah 2

Nehemiah prayed—but he didn’t stop at prayer.

When God opened the door, Nehemiah walked through it.

Nehemiah 2 reminds us that biblical faith is not passive. There is a time to pray, a time to wait, and then there is a time to get up and obey.

The walls were broken. The situation was difficult. Opposition was already forming. But Nehemiah’s confidence was not in himself.

Maybe there is something in your life God has already made clear.

A step you need to take.
A conversation you need to have.
A ministry you need to begin.
A relationship you need to strengthen.
An act of obedience you have been delaying.

Prayer prepares the heart. God opens the door. Faith walks through it.

Don’t just stare at the rubble.

Arise and build.
