What does it mean to be a biblically sexual man? Can masculine men also be deeply romantic? And how can we stop lusting and learn to embrace true beauty in other people?
What if we processed beauty differently? What if beauty helped reveal our deeper needs, emotions, and inner longings rather than leading us into lust?
In today’s conversation with trauma therapist and author Sam Jolman, we unpack the difference between what happens in our physical bodies—arousal—and what happens in our hearts when we notice or feel attracted to another person.
We also discuss what we can do when we notice our spouse looking at someone attractive, how couples can respond without immediately moving into fear, shame, or accusation, and how we can steward our hearts in ways that honor God, ourselves, and our spouse.
This conversation touches on several topics that are crucial for us during our own healing journey. We hope you enjoy this convo as much as we did and be sure to check out Sam Jolman’s book below.

Today, with Brook Mosser, we challenge the idea that masculinity is defined by toughness, silence, performance, or stereotypically “manly” activities. Instead, biblical masculinity is marked by humility, confession, emotional honesty, meekness, and the courage to be fully known.
Brook shares vulnerably from his own story of family betrayal, hidden pain, forgiveness, marriage, fatherhood, and the relationships that have helped shape him into the man he is today. Together, we talk about why so many men struggle to name what is really happening inside them, why accountability alone is often not enough, and why genuine brotherhood can become a place of healing, strength, and freedom.
This episode is an invitation for men to reject isolation, stop pretending, and allow trusted brothers to help carry the weight of life. It is also an encouragement for wives who want to support their husbands without shaming, controlling, or forcing vulnerability.
The most masculine men are not the ones who hide their weakness. They are the ones brave enough to tell the truth, receive help, and become more like Jesus.

In this episode, we sit down with Laurie Krieg to talk about one of the most important and often intimidating topics for Christian parents (and reference her newest book a lot), Raising Wise Kids in a Sexually Broken World.
Laurie shares from her own story, her years of ministry experience, and her work with parents to help families move from fear-based parenting to gospel-centered discipleship. We talk about why sheltering our kids from every hard conversation is not the same as preparing them, and how to talk about sexuality with both compassion and conviction.
This conversation is full of wisdom, honesty, and practical encouragement for parents who want to help their kids understand God's good design, recognize brokenness with compassion, and learn how to love others without compromising truth.

Everyone says date nights are vital for a healthy marriage.
But after betrayal, date night can feel anything but fun. It can feel awkward, scary, vulnerable, and even triggering. One wrong question, one hard moment, and suddenly the whole night feels ruined.
If that’s where you are, we get it.
Restoring date night was not easy for us. We had some funny fails, awkward silences, and plenty of trial and error along the way. But over time, we learned how to make date night feel safe, lighthearted, and enjoyable again.
In this episode, we share the do’s and don’ts of date night in recovery, what helped us stop turning dates into recovery check-ins, and how couples can begin laughing, reconnecting, and creating new memories after betrayal.

Can travel feel safe again when trust is still healing?
For many couples, work trips, weekends away, or time apart can bring up fear, anxiety, and painful memories. In this episode, we talk about how to create a travel safety plan that helps both spouses feel cared for before, during, and after a trip.
We share practical ways to prepare instead of repair, build trust through proactive accountability, identify triggers, and create boundaries that protect the relationship.
Travel does not have to be another place where fear takes over. With humility, preparation, and a clear plan, it can become an opportunity to rebuild safety and trust.

In this shocking and eye-opening episode, we sit down with Michael Leahy, founder and CEO of BraveHearts and author of Porn Nation, to talk about a danger most people are not prepared for: the way AI is reshaping pornography, addiction, intimacy, emotional attachment, and what it means to be human.
Michael has spent decades helping men, women, and couples heal from sexual addiction and betrayal trauma. But after watching the rapid rise of AI, he believes we are entering an entirely new frontier — one that may be even more dangerous than the early days of internet pornography.
This conversation goes beyond AI-generated pornography. We talk about AI companions, emotional dependency, betrayed spouses, parenting, recovery, and why real relationships, with real hurt and pain, need a real community and a real God.
This is a sobering and urgent conversation for every spouse, parent, pastor, counselor, and ministry leader who wants to understand what is coming — and how we can respond with wisdom, safety, and hope.

In this episode, we sit down with Troy Snyder, MS, NCC, LPC, CCSAS, CPCS, a counselor who has been working in the sexual addiction field for over 25 years, to talk about what healing looks like beneath addiction.
So often, the focus in recovery becomes, “How do I stop the behavior?” But Troy invites us to ask a deeper question: What is happening in the heart? What pain is being avoided? What core wounds are still tender? What emotions were never named, processed, or brought into healthy community? And what is pornography falsely promising to fix?
We also talk about the depth of betrayal trauma and why the betrayed spouse’s pain cannot be minimized, rushed, or placed on a timeline. Troy gives language for how the unfaithful spouse can stay humble, own the impact, and begin to understand the grief and devastation betrayal creates.

In this episode, we sit down with Jacob Valk, co-founder and co-executive director of Into the Light Ministries, for a powerful conversation about pornography, parenting, prevention, and God’s good design for sexuality.
Jacob shares his own story of growing up with a mom who talked to him early and openly about pornography and created a home where the topic wasn’t hidden in shame. By the grace of God, Jacob never became hooked on pornography, but he vulnerably shares how he struggled with masturbation, lust, and learning how to bring even the hidden parts of his sexuality into the light.
We talk about why pornography is so destructive, why masturbation is often misunderstood or minimized, and how a deeper theology of God’s design for sex gives us more than just rules.
Jacob also shares the heart behind Into the Light Ministries and the free resources they’ve created for individuals, parents, churches, and families. From their documentary on pornography to their parenting masterclass and tech series, their mission is to equip the Church to face pornography with truth, clarity, courage, and hope.

In this episode, we sit down with Jeff and Jourdan for a vulnerable conversation about same-sex attraction, marriage, honesty, and what it looks like to keep choosing Jesus when the struggle doesn’t simply go away.
Jeff and Jourdan are worship leaders, pastors, podcast hosts, and the founders of Open Spaces. With over 25 years of ministry experience, they have spent their lives creating spaces where people can encounter God in honest and transformative ways. But behind the scenes, their own story was being shaped by deep pain, confusion, utter dependence on God, and tremendous courage.
Jeff shares about his lifelong experience with same-sex attraction, the secrecy he carried for years, and the moment he finally told Jourdan the truth. He admits that for a long time, he didn’t even think marriage was possible. Jourdan shares what it was like to hear his story, how Jesus guided her to stay, and how the Holy Spirit met her with the strength, clarity, and grace in the middle of so many unknowns.
This conversation is not a simple story with easy answers. It is a story about choosing Jesus in the middle of unanswered prayers, unwanted desires, shame, temptation, and confusion.

In this episode, we sit down with Scott McDowell, son of Sean McDowell and grandson of Josh McDowell, for a vulnerable and honest conversation about the hidden battle he and so many young men face with pornography.
Even though Scott came from a legacy of well-known Christian leaders who educated him about the dangers of pornography, he found himself in the trenches with a secret that he believed would bring shame on the family name if anyone found out. From the outside, he looked like the “good Christian guy.” But behind the scenes, he was believing the lies that so many people fall prey to: “I can quit whenever I want,” “It’s not really affecting me,” and “If it is damaging, it’s only hurting me.”
Eventually, God began to show him that pornography was doing more damage than he realized and was affecting his relationship with God, his confidence, his dating relationship, and so much more. We also talk about how the types of pornography are changing within a younger generation and what it actually looks like to walk in purity as a young man on a college campus.
Again, we’re reminded that the struggle with pornography thrives in secrecy, but healing begins when we bring it into the light.
