The earth was designed to flourish under the leadership of a human king in agreement with the uncreated God. When the first Adam gave away dominion of the earth to the Serpent in the Garden, God promised a King who would come to reclaim and restore it. On the day of Pentecost, Peter stood up and proclaimed to the residents of Jerusalem that Jesus was raised from the dead to sit on David's throne and rule the earth as Lord and Christ. There is still an unfulfilled promise that God has to David. Easter is the celebration of an empty tomb and the cry "Maranatha" for Jesus to sit on that empty throne.
