We are going way back in time today to look at a man many of us have wrongly credited with being the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula; Vlad The Impaler.

Born in the time of the great Ottoman Empire, Vlad the 3rd had a rough go at life. At a young age he and his brother were taken hostage by the Sultan for years, while their father stood again him and his reign.

After his father was killed Vlad had to fight long and hard before he was actually able to take the throne of Wallachia for himself. Keeping it would be another long hard struggle, with many of those years spent imprisoned.

Long after his death Vlad leaves a lasting legacy that will debated till the end of time. While it is true he used cruel and barbaric tactics, he is somewhat hailed as a hero for his fight to keep the region autonomous.

In this day and age we have the benefit of science but in the 18th and 19th century there wasn't much of that. You know, you have ghost in your blood, do cocaine about it. 

So when one member of the family died, then others around them also begin to get sick, suspicion often fell on the recently deceased. 

For around 100 years New England was in the grip of a panic; panic that dead people were coming back to consume the life force of their relatives. Long before the word vampire became pop culture, these people feared these relatives had turned into these creatures and were tormenting their living relatives. 

So what do you do when the dead are coming back to hurt the living? Dig them up and desecrate their body of course.

This week we are looking at someone who has made it their life mission to try to talk to a certain set of individuals and change their mind. 

Daryl Davis stands in his own right as an amazing R&B and Blues musician, playing with the like of Chuck Berry and BB King. 

But when he is not playing the piano, he is talking to members of the Ku Klux Klan to try and understand what makes them hate people they have never even met. 

Daryl has changed the hearts of many men, but not everyone believes he is doing this for the right reasons.

A couple hundred years after the Hellfire club fell to ruin a more sinister club emerged. The Atomic Energy Commission. But the AEC is not the only bad actor in our lesson today. Oh no, the US government had their hands dirty too. 

From America's favorite Oatmeal brand, to the US Navy, to hospitals, citizens of this oh so great country were- without their informed consent- exposed to radioactive materials in various ways. 

And when these crimes came to light, absolutely nothing was done for the victims, or to prevent these things from happening again.

Imagine getting a phone call that your 24 year old child did not return to their jobsite out in the Arizona desert. And then imagine getting told that your child is an adult and can disappear into the desert if they want too. 

That is what David Robinson had to deal with the summer of 2021 when his son Daniel went missing from his job in Tempe Arizona. The Buckeye Police Department did not want to deal with a missing young adult, especially not a missing young black man. 

David drove from his SC home all the way to Arizona to look for his son himself. A search he has not given up although there have been few to no leads in the 4+ years since Daniel disappeared. 

What make it even harder is when a pretty young white girl goes missing Daniel gets pushed aside. This is some thing Joe Petito, Gabby Petito's father has been fighting against, even as he is along side David helping him look for his son.

We are brining you a lighter topic this week, and a peek at our flagship show if you haven't given it a try. 

Historically the ocean has always been a dangerous place. From the way the water behaves, to other humans one may encounter while on the water, tales of the dangers of the open ocean have been around since the beginning of mankind. 

So when a crew runs across the abandoned ship of a friend, theories abound about what could have happened to the passengers. From initial theories of insurance fraud and murder, to wilder theories of aliens and large sea creatures, theories have been whispered since the ship was brought in. 

But we will probably never know what happen to the ten souls aboard this brig. Only the ocean knows that secret now.

We are bringing you the end of the Bosnian War, as it is on paper anyways, this Christmas week. It has been just over 30 years since the treaty to end the war was signed, and life has somewhat went back to normal for many of the citizens.

But in a country that was ravaged by war for three years, that normal looks a lot different than it did in pre war Bosnia. Neighborhoods and parks are littered with headstones for the thousands lost. Building still hold the bullet holes from gunfire, and Sarajevo Roses can be seen all over the sidewalks, a reminder of numerous lives lost in that spot.

A lesson we can all take from this war is to be careful of nationalist who want a ethnically pure state. That leads to ethnic cleansing, rape and the destruction of an entire culture. We can not let this happened within our own countries.

This week we are heading over the ocean to the small country of Bosnia to look at a war many, at least in my generation, probably do not remember. 

Bosnia is a land that has been inhabited since humans have roamed the earth. And with humans, war has also been common place. 

And in 1992 war came to this small country. A friend of mine was only 16 when her mother woke her to tell her they were at war, and then she heard the bombs dropping. 

This episode we will go through the events of this war from 1992 till the end of 1993. There are many names and acronyms in this episode that are hard to follow but bear with us. These events are important and can not be forgotten.

As we prepare to visit with friends and family this week, I wanted us to take a moment to think about the original, and rightful, stewards of this land. 

For decades children all across this continent have been fed the lie that their was a great friendship between the pilgrims and "indians" and that they shared a feast together as a sign of that friendship. 

But the reality is not that simple and never has been. Yes, there was a feast in 1621, however it was not a joint celebration put on by both communities. 

And even after they sat and broke bread, the violence inflicted upon the native communities only got worse. Some settler villages would even give thanks after the slaughter of native camps, but in reality they would give thanks for EVERYTHING that happened to them in the new world that did not lead to their immediate death. 

While you eat your truck this week, watch America's team lose yet again, and argue with your MAGAt uncle, remember those who truly paved the way for you to have this celebration, many of them with their very lives.

This week we are headed to the land down under to look at a Missing Persons Crisis that mirrors the one we are facing here in the Americas. 

While looking for cases to highlight Blue Jean Jacket Day on June 6th here in the US, I came across several stories of missing aboriginal men in Western Australia. 

Much like with the MMIR movement here in the US, WA has an absurd number of missing men from native communities, most who reside in the bush. 

This episode gives s quick coverage of one family of who lost several members over the decades, with no clue as to what happened to them or where they could have gone.
