Yes, the best car and truck shows in 2023 are once again on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  They start in May and go through October.   If you love custom cars and trucks and classic cars and trucks you must arrange to attend one or more of these great shows.   

Jeeping the Coast, Scrapin the Coast, Big Rig Truck Show, and Cruzin the Coast are all terrific shows that incorporate the entire Mississippi Gulf Coast.  Not only are vehicles driving up and down U.S. 90 but they are parked in downtown areas of Coastal cities for all to see.

Florida is a great place, low cost, conservative, and has wonderful weather. The dark side is that everyone wants to move to Florida which is increasing costs and crowds. Many of the reasons you would consider Florida are fading away fast. Crowds, higher cost, traffic, etc. Before you follow the herd to Florida, consider there may be a better alternative than moving to Florida.

The Peter Anderson Arts and Crafts Festival held the first week of November each year in Ocean Springs, MS is the best.   More than 150,000 people attend the two day event with artists from all over the United States.  Hundreds of booths display a wide variety of art and other items.

No charge to enter (they would like a $2 donation) and no charge to park, entirely free event for the whole family.  This is the largest event in the state of Mississippi.  Listen as the event is described.

Considering a move, is your high-cost state just too much? Taxes, politics, and public safety causing anxiety? It's probably time for you to consider relocating. Yes, we probably are in a recession but who cares if we call it a recession or not?  What is important is that we bring out the old budget spreadsheet and plan for opportunities as we come out of this period in a few months.

Don't panic sell or buy.  Don't follow the herd to do anything during this period as it is completely unsettled.   Gas prices may go back up.  That motor home you bought during COVID, may be time to dump if you don't use it before everyone else sells theirs.

Don't overpay for a used car now.  Wait until prices drop and they will drop drastically as the supply chain improves and it will.  Buy that house you have been looking at for the excellent price you have negotiated.  The value may fall in a few months but over time it will recover.  

The point is not to overreact.  Plan your spending and don't buy what you don't need now.  Be in a great position to take advantage of the post-recession period when people are dumping their goods and prices drop.
