Data from the latest census has revealed a growing number of Australians are struggling to pay off their mortgage while they’re still working.

In fact, the number of Australians aged 55-64 who own their home outright, has almost halved over the past 20 years.

Also alarming is the number of people delaying their retirement because of these debts, including those incurred by the bank of mum and dad.
