Jason Rouna joins me this week to discuss the USHRA event held at the Pontiac Silverdome in 1989. The story behind this show is simple, Jim Kramer and Bigfoot was upset the year before in round 1 by the Hot Stuff jeep driven by Jeff Bainter. Kramer is back in 89, and Bigfoot is looking for some revenge! On the other side of things, we get the Monster Tank battle where the man himself Mr. Bob Chandler is in the field with some of the most unique vehicles in competition at the time!

An incredible sight to behold is two 66 inch tired, leaf sprung, Monster Trucks racing down a NASCAR Pit Road. Lets up the risk factor though and make it one of the tightest Pit Roads on the NASCAR Cup Series Schedule. Richmond International Raceway had the TNT Monster Truck Challenge stop by for a visit in 1989 and it was one of the craziest weekends in the sports history! A building that still stands to this day and has housed so many big events throughout its history! This week were talking about perhaps one of the greatest racing events ever in TNT Motorsports short history. Louisville Motor Speedway is probably to this day the longest track that Monster Trucks ever competed on. This made for some great racing over the years as well as some great combacks! TNT Motorsports ventured into Louisville Kentucky on October the 16th, 1987. Little did we know how this event would change the course of how TNT events would be produced and ran in the years to come. In January of 1986 the USHRA Held the first ever National Monster Truck Racing Event in New Orleans Louisiana at the Superdome. The success of this event brought a whole new motorsport into the worlds eyes for the first time! Today we look back on one of the most historic events in Monster Truck history.
