Return from Emmaus to Jerusalem.
In this Resurrection Morning podcast, my main text is taken from the book of Luke 14. It is the familiar story of the two followers of Jesus who had taken off on a journey to “nowhere”. They had so many aspirations and expectations of what Jesus would do for Israel, yet it all ended in disappointment. They left Jerusalem ( a place of Promise, Purpose and Presence) and ran away to Emmaus (an obscure and people depressed place). They were confused and could not even believe the report of the women... that Jesus has arose. THEN JESUS drew near and walked and talked and shared the scriptures with them. Even though they were on the wrong path, Jesus never 👎treated them indifferently. They made a U-turn and decided to head back home. We all have our “Emmaus” experiences but it’s time to head back home.... Jesus is risen! ❤️
