The work of missions is changing in the 21st century. With most of the framework “to the ends of the earth” nearly complete, the process of “filling” now takes priority. As we draw nearer to Christ’s return, churches and Christians now bear the greater responsibility in missions work and not just those crossing to unknown cultures. Today’s sermon renews the timeless call to followers of Jesus Christ to not be apathetic, but to maintain a constant attitude of preparedness in doing the right things as God’s missional community to reach the world. Then we will together be ready to respond to Christ’s question at the end of Matthew 25 when He returns.
