Publisher's Summary:
When her girlhood crush blossomed into marriage, Andie believed in a rosy future with the man of her dreams - until Todd's betrayal sent her from the beauty of Minnesota's winters to Atlanta to begin anew. But just a few months later, Todd walks back into Andie's life - asking for her help. The stone quarry they jointly inherited is for sale, and a good price would secure the future for both of them - paying Andie's tuition and buying freedom for Todd to concentrate on his sculpture.
They need to sell now, but the prospective buyer believes he can pick up the quarry at a discount while Todd and Andie fight through a divorce. Todd wants Andie to rejoin him at the family home, Amberley, and put a false face on their failing marriage to convince the buyer and sell the quarry. But is Andie risking her heart if she returns to Amberley?

Not a walk in the park
I'm a little unsure of what to say about this book. I guess that if you're into a bit of drama and you like your Hs to be the strong silent type, then this could be for you. It's a little dated but at least there's a mention of a mobile phone. The main characters are still married even though the h expects their divorce to be finalised any day. The H comes to Atlanta on business and insists on meeting up with her for dinner. This after no personal contact other than her dividend cheque for their quarry every month. At the dinner the H says that he needs to sell the quarry and the only way they'll realise a decent price is if the h moves back home until the sale is finalised. Otherwise the interested party will knock their price right down. The H is a sculptor and wants to pursue it full time now that his father has died. Up till then he had a full time job managing the quarry. The reason their marriage failed is because they were caught in a compromising position by her father and they were rushed into marriage (now you see why it's dated). The H really loses it on their wedding night and makes it very clear that he doesn't want to be married. After that the h then set some ground rules, like no sex and eventually she moved to Atlanta. The H lives in Minnesota.
This is one of those books were a decent honest conversation a few weeks after the wedding, would have solved all their problems and there wouldn't be a book. I wouldn't bother with this one if you only want rainbows and unicorns at the end of the book. There is no evidence of cheating other than someone being very interested in the h.
Return to Amberley
Communication is the best way to clear misunderstandings, however, courage to say the words also ranks right up there!
Andie has faith that Todd won't try to cheat her but Roger's experiences (or wants) tend to lead him down a path he doesn't belong on. Todd doesn't want to hurt Andie any more so bends over backward to help her out, neither Todd nor Andie want to hurt the other but neither do they open their hearts to what they can have - enjoyed the book very much.
Not the Same
I love Leigh Michaels's books. This one has overtones from her latest series. It is not a light, simple romance. She probably didn't mean it to be.
