Charlotte, Charlie and Millie chat to the lovely Suzie. Suzie gives an open and honest overview of her varied and vast career from beginning until the present day.
Suzie speaks frankly about being a mother and the financial implications of that especially when she was no longer able/wanted to Nanny.
When Suzie took the plunge and decided to return to Nannying, knew her role had to tick certain boxes. She discusses her anxieties regarding returning including the complexities of taking a roles with older children versus a baby. Suzie compares the rewarding feeling of helping children meet their milestones, which really only comes from the consistency of Nannying, as opposed to social work where she was dipping in and out.
After her 1st interview she was panicking that potential employers might deem her too old? Do people not want to employ Nannies that are older than them? Her panic then diminished once her self-assurance kicked in. Suzie talks about how Nannying has changed since her last employment 17 years ago, is it easier or harder now?
One thing is for sure, despite Suzie’s ever evolving career, her constant love for children shines through.
