This month, Calvary celebrates 137 years of Christian ministry in Wilmington, North Carolina. Ever since its founding in 1886, Calvary has taken an active role in the local Christian community. Organized by a small group of men meeting for Bible study above an old department store, Calvary grew into a large, influential body which has seen a wide variety of leadership, ordained hundreds of ministers, and preached the Gospel to untold thousands of people both locally and around the world. This week, guest speaker Dr. Michael Cloer, Network Mission Strategist for the Cape Fear Network of Baptist Churches, delivers a powerful message that challenges us to renew our commitment to Jesus and rediscover the reasons why He should be the first and greatest love in our lives.
