Scripture: Acts 1:4–8; 1:12–14; 2:1–12, 43

What happens when believers are empowered by the Holy Spirit? As we begin looking through Acts, we follow Jesus’ disciples from his instruction to wait to the outpouring at Pentecost. Jesus gave them a worldwide assignment, and people from many nations were already gathered in Jerusalem when the promised Spirit came. Here in Hawaiʻi, people from around the world live beside us too. We still have a mandate to go, whether that means traveling thousands of miles or walking five doors down the street. The picture of a powerful harvester that never leaves the barn brings the question home: How are we putting the power God has given us to work?

John 13:2–17; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26 | October 18, 2026

Communion reminds us of what Jesus gave for us. Feet washing invites us to follow his example of humble service.

In this message, Pastor Gary Langley connects these practices through Jesus’ final meal with his disciples. We remember his sacrifice through the bread and cup, then consider why our Lord and Teacher humbled himself to wash his disciples’ feet — and instructed them to do the same for one another.

Whether feet washing is familiar or entirely new to you, this message introduces it as an opportunity to put love into action. The significance lies in humbling ourselves and serving one another as Jesus taught us. Will we move beyond knowing his example to following it?

John 4:46–53

We’re used to tracking our deliveries. But what happens when we pray and there’s no notification that the answer is on the way?

In this message, Pastor Gary Langley explores the story of a desperate father who came to Jesus seeking healing for his son. He expected Jesus to travel home with him. Instead, Jesus gave him a promise — and the man took Jesus at his word before he could see anything change.

This message challenges us to trust Jesus while we wait, release our assumptions about how he must answer, and act on his word. When circumstances offer no visible reassurance, can we still take Jesus at his word and start walking?

Because the Lord has poured out His Spirit on all flesh, Jesus said His sheep hear His voice and He wants us to earnestly seek to prophesy, we have the capacity to grow in our relationship with Him to the point we can build others up in how Christ sees them.

We also need to test a “Word”for its alignment with God’s nature and written Word and the fruit it bears in our heart, so we can partner with the Lord’s love and power to create His Kingdom on earth.  

Robin answers some practical questions and explains how the prophecy room will operate before church, starting next week.

When life brings loss or disappointment, fear and skepticism can sound louder than faith. In John 11, the disciples, Lazarus’s sisters, and the crowd each respond to a situation that seems beyond hope. Pastor Gary follows those voices to the tomb, where Jesus calls Lazarus out and shows that His voice of life has the final word.

In John 9, Jesus heals a man who had been blind from birth — but He does not give us a formula to follow. His methods changed, but His authority did not.
