Closing Gallery Art Exhibit and DJ Set | San Francisco, CA

This live 3+ hour journey was recorded during the emotional finale of Uzay Gallery—one of San Francisco’s last true artist live/work spaces—as we said goodbye to a home for radical expression, creativity, and chosen family.

I volunteered to DJ this special night in support of my dear friend Maya (Maryam) Tohidi, who closed her exhibition “The Journey ‘Home’” with a powerful reflection on displacement, identity, and rebirth. This set is dedicated to her, to the gallery, and to everyone charting their own path back home—wherever that may be.

Expect:

• ✨ Mystical Melodic House

• 🔊 Deep + Afro rhythms

• 🧿 Middle Eastern textures

• 🌀 Ritualistic NuDisco and Techno

A night of gratitude, movement, and goodbye.

Recorded live at 5 Olive Gallery in San Francisco, this 1.5-hour set was part of the opening night for Fragments of Home, an exhibit by Iranian-American artist Maryam (Maya) Tohidi.

Maya’s work is a moving exploration of identity, memory, and the meaning of ‘home’ through layers of personal narrative, found objects, and the enduring symbolism of the Persian rug. The soundscape for the evening was designed to mirror this emotional depth — weaving together ambient textures, global rhythms, and introspective grooves to hold space for reflection, connection, and transformation.

Let the music accompany you on a journey across borders — physical and emotional — as we celebrate the beauty of tradition, the courage of change, and the stories that make us whole.

Here's a nice mix of Persian, middle eastern and deep house from a friend's house party that I've had the pleasure of playing at many years in a row! Thanks for Giti for the gear, opening set and all the DJs that made it a blast! Happy 47th Ahmad jon!

In “D.J. A.I. AM i,” technology meets creativity as AI helps take the reins of DJing—but with a human touch. This mix was created using DJ Studio Software, allowing the DJ to step off the decks and onto the dance floor, practicing social skills without sacrificing the party vibe.

While the software offered incredible time-saving features, it’s clear that human intuition and finesse remain irreplaceable. Tracks required manual tweaking, from phrasing to start points, ensuring that every beat aligns just right for that perfect groove.

This mix represents a harmony between human artistry and machine assistance, pushing the boundaries of what AI can achieve in the DJ space. The result? A seamless flow of expertly aligned tracks, ready to keep the party going. But at its heart, the mix reminds us that “Nothing can replace the I than We ARE,” emphasizing the irreplaceable energy of human connection and creativity.

Let the music play, but always with a human behind the beat!
