Who might want to emulate you? To take that to another level, who might want you emulate you two times over, or a double portion? The story in the Bible of Elijah and Elisha illustrates a wonderful example of what it looks like to be an icon for one to follow. As an apprentice of Elijah, Elisha wanted to take on the mantle of his mentor and be an even greater expression of service and devotion to God. Who in your world looks to you in that same fashion? That is who you become when you step into your greatness. A beacon of hope for the world.

2 Kings 2:1-14
That which we hold in our hearts from others are the very things when shared, provide healing. Little do we realize, often when it is later than it needs to be, that we have access to make a difference in the experience of life. Give a voice to the longings of your heart.

Psalm 42
As children of God, we are heirs. Heirs to the kingdom of God in a way that exceeds our imagination. As heirs, we must remember that this human experience is merely a place and space for training and preparation. When we face challenges, and life will be full of them, as children of God, we have the power to transform those situations. When faced with frustrations and irritations, we are called to remember that our human experience is intended for us to call forth our God centered way of being. These are times when our calling to make a difference in the world is presented with an opportunity to transform. This is the opportunity to demonstrate our loyalty to God and change the world.

Romans 8:14-17
What does it mean to be open for business? There can be no commerce without a series of pathways to make exchanges. When Jesus was preparing for the ascension, his discussion with the disciples was clear. He asked if they were ready to be open to receive the scriptures. This was the culmination of all of their learning, their experiences, their preparation with Christ. This was a moment, similar to a graduation, where they were invited to step into their learning and begin to practice their training. We too must be open to receive the scriptures and go out into the world as expressions of Christ. Are you open for business?

Luke 24:44-53
What does it mean to be “clothed with power?” One of the last charges Jesus delivered to the disciples was that they should “wait in the city until clothed with the power from on high.” It was then that they would be adequately prepared to go into the world to do God’s work. We too are “clothed” by extension. It is time for us to accept and engage in our respective assignments.

Have you taken any time to think about how people view you? Are you know as a truth teller or a storyteller? Are you known as one who speaks honestly or one who cannot hold a secret? How are you known? Most importantly in this consideration, are you known for your love? What is your brand of love, and who is the audience? Consider the world is dying from the absence of Christian love, and each of us can do something about that, depending upon our brand of love.

Our lives in many ways, are similar to the life of sheep. We may think that we are totally in charge of our lives, but in reality, our lives are based upon the circles we choose to operate within. We are like sheep in that we are communal, we tend to operate in flocks, and we are cared for by others (shepherds) who frame our lives. Today we invite you to look at your choice in shepherds. This reflection will offer insights into how you have constructed your supportive shepherds.

Psalm 23
Where in your life might you have the experience or feeling of being stuck? Where might you want to consider redirecting your efforts rather than redoubling your efforts? Where might you rethink your direction and listen to that still small voice within and heed God’s inspiration and guidance? That opening to abundance is waiting for you to take that step.

Rev Leon
John 21:1-19
We must be cognizant of the times we live in and the calling that we all have as believers. After the death and resurrection of Christ, the Apostles called into action to spread the good news and message of Jesus Christ. They were faced with resistance. They were warned not to preach and heal. The religious leaders saw the threat that challenged their authoritarianism. Despite this, they went ahead with their calling. We too have a similar assignment these days, and we too must act. Know that God is with you.

Acts 5:27-32
The joy of Easter is not about material things. Easter is about the demonstration of renewal and rebirth. It is about the rebirth within each of us of an even deeper awareness of what it means to be a believer. Let us acknowledge this rebirthing within and be filled with joy as we see these elements reflected in the new buds of spring rising all around us. Those buds are affirmations of our faith in the very things that Jesus reflected.
